Welcome!

Summertime is here and the Snowbirds have flown the coop - but there's still Corvette news, activity, and fun to be had. This blog's title is inspired by our fearless rally leaders Rainer and Mia whose Jet Guy and Jet Vet license plates are a perfect reflection of our love for these great cars and the fact we spend so much time traveling!

I hear from John U that there's a meet-up in Minnesota next week with Mark M flying up to meet with John and Louise, Jane, Dave J. and others - have fun and send pictures! Of course, that assumes John gets the Corvette back together.

I sold my 2015 Stingray today (sad...) but the new 2019 Z06 should be here soon enough to fill the garage space. It was built on May 13, and the paperwork is done; now we just have to see how long it takes it to get from Bowling Green to Phoenix on a train or truck. I suspect a bit longer than it would take under its own power!

The last Phil's Cruise-In for the season was last Sunday. Attendance was good as the weather has been unusually mild for May (mostly in the 80's for a high). From our group we had Al S., Chris and Debbie E., Roger, and Lucy and myself. Chris, Debbie, Lucy and I made it to Portillo's for hot dogs, Italian sausage, etc. afterwards. Let's do more of that when everyone is back!

Saturday's Cars and Coffee is at Streetside Classics in Mesa for anyone still in town. 614 E Auto Center Dr Suite 101, Mesa, AZ 85204. They always have a good turnout, plus coffee and donuts. If it gets warm you can go inside the huge warehouse full of cars which is cool and fun!

Charles and Suzy joined Lucy and me for the Diamondbacks vs. Giants ballgame last Friday. Not a Corvette in sight, but plenty of fun. We covered baseball and hot dogs, just needed some apple pie and Chevrolets!
